Who are Binary Designs?
When we formed Binary Designs in 1990 our goal was to create a company which embodied our passion for using computer technology in music. The business specialised for 18 years in software and complete music systems for the education and home studio markets. In 2008 a new phase began when we opened our retail music store trading as Binary Music. Our new space, in the lifestyle precinct of Victoria Point Lakeside, retains our dedication to customer service and after sales support, and now allows us to service the general music needs of the local community in the Redlands area of South-East Queensland. Co-Directors Karen and Len Henderson head a small but growing dedicated team, helping all of our clients to make the most of their musical investment, whether it be a violin, guitar, digital piano, or the latest USB or firewire interface or music software. We remain passionate about helping to realise the full potential of the benefits of technology in music education.
Binary Designs conduct informative music technology seminars for schools, higher educational institutions and other interested groups, and produce a downloadable catalogue of popular software and hardware. As well as selling the highest quality music technology products, Binary Designs' skilled team provide full support and service for all our valued clients. Karen Henderson B.Mus., Grad Cert M Tech, LYMF., MTAQ., has 30 years experience in music education from preschool to tertiary level. Specialising in keyboards, she has performed as a solo artist and been a member of several symphony orchestras. Karen has developed particular expertise in arranging music of all styles using MIDI, and takes every opportunity to share her ideas with other music educators.

Len Henderson M.Sc., a computer systems analyst of 30 years standing, brings to the company a wealth of technical expertise in the business computer field. In addition to consulting work for major corporations. Len is also an accomplished guitarist, having performed extensively in the jazz and rock idiom and appeared on several contemporary music albums.
