- ShareIT Conference 2008 is held each year on the pupil-free day in August at Ferny Grove State High School. - July 2008: Cairns Music Conference 2008 was held on 13th and 14th July at Cairns State High School. This year's biennial event had the theme of 'Music for the Millenial Generation' and was attended by over 100 delegates who enjoyed a tropical break to discover, network, and see what's new in music education.
