Binary Designs is once again pleased to welcome
James Humberstone to Brisbane for a two day tour, Professional Tools For The Modern Musician, demonstrating the latest in music technology for musicians and educators. Binary Designs are proud to present these workshops in our Summer Series for 2005. Our philosophy revolves around a continuing commitment to servicing our clients, showcasing the latest developments and providing training on software and hardware technology tools.



About the presenter: James is the national product manager for Intelliware Australia supplier of popular music education technology products including the Superscope, MusicPad and Sibelius. As a lecturer in composition at MLC School in Sydney, professional composer and copyist, and a popular presenter at music conferences around the country, James will share his expertise during his visit to Queensland. During his tour James will be visiting schools and universities working with students and teachers as well as conducting some open sessions available to the public.


THE DIGITAL MUSICIAN

In this workshop James will demonstrate the latest music technology tools in composing, the rehearsal stage and performance developed for teachers, performers and composers alike.

You will be taken step by step through the various applications from compostition stage (James will compose and edit a score using Sibelius) through to rehearsal stage (James will import music into MusicPad Pro for the performer to rehearse with) then finally to the recording stage (James will demonstrate how to record an ensemble direct to CD using the Superscope)

Sibelius 3 - Scoring & Publishing Software

MusicPad Pro - Paperless Portable Digital Music Stand

Superscope - CD Practice Player & Recorder

James will demonstrate the practical benefits of using these latest technologies in teaching and performance.

This session is a hands-on workshop developing skills in Sibelius 3 notation software. James will cater for Beyond Basics users and demonstrate some of the more advanced scoring procedures. He will be happy to answer any questions that you have. You are welcome to presubmit these to Binary Designs.

James will discuss how technology can assist university students with their music studies in the areas of composing and arranging. He will feature Sibelius, Superscope and the Music Pad Pro as tools in the presentation.
James will demonstrate the latest digital technologies working together from the composing stages, through to performance culminating in a digital recorded form on CD.
